South East Asia – Time to Learn More Book Review

Today China is one of our major trading partners. And there are many ongoing controversy between South and North Korea. Recently we have seen violence in Burma, and challenges in the field of water rights and civil unrest in these regions. We all know how the United States of America was in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Burma, and most of us know the economies of countries like Thailand, for example, involved. We also have views on emerging markets, Singapore has the ball out of the park.

But what do you personally really know the peoples of Southeast Asia? If you do not know a lot, it may be time that you studied a little, and I learned a little more. There are many things about the cultures, religions, history, and how the last 50 years things have changed know what is most important, we need the importance of this region over the next 50 years.

Perhaps for this reason there is a very good book, I would recommend. And I spent some time in the library last week reading through it, make notes, and was very happy with all the information I collected. The name of the book;

“Times Arrow, cycle time: globalization in South Asia in the course of time” by Peter A. Coclanis, Institute for the Study of Southeast Asia Publishing, Singapore (2006), 76 pages, ISBN 981-2303 – 75-8.

Currently now in 2011 we are witnessing the culmination of the expansion in South Asia, inflation is now incredible devastation. We see how nations prevent the inflow of capital in the western world are in their banks to prevent the galloping inflation of food and other goods. It is amazing how the author predicted much of what he saw. In retrospect it is clear that he knew what he was talking about.

Well, the information contained in this book is as important today as it was in 2006, in fact, the story has not changed, it is still there and still fairly accurate. It helps us understand how we got from there, and knowing what we know today about the news and issues that we in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times to read the BBC, and CNN is looking at it easy to predict for the next five years.

However, you must have a base of information, history, culture, business, lifestyle and understand to understand what is happening and where we go. Please note all this and I recommend this book.
